PhD Scholarship on co-operation and character at MMU

Manchester Metropolitan University is looking for candidates for a new PhD Scholarship in character and co-operation, in collaboration with the Co-operative College and the National Co-operative Archive. The project is expected to start in September 2017 and the application deadline is 31 January 2017.

The project, under the name The Making of Character: Education and the Formation of Character in the Nineteenth Century Cooperative Movement,  will explore the intellectual sources that shaped the concept of character found in the writings of, and works associated with, the leading figures of the nineteenth century co-operative movement in Britain, situating them in their social, political and historical context.
