The only event of its kind, our third annual Co-operative Education and Research Conference 2017 is taking place on 5 and 6 April 2017 at Geoffrey Manton Building, Manchester Metropolitan University. This unique event is your opportunity to join in the conversation, increase your knowledge and network with a broad range of co-operative thinkers.
The theme of our conference is Learning for Co-operative Transformations with a focus on:
• young people
We are currently living through a period of rapid global change where the socio-economic and political landscapes are transforming and there is a widening gap between the rich and poor. Within this there is an appetite for an alternative to traditional capitalist models, be they co-operative, social enterprise or other collaborative, collective solutions.
The conference will focus on the ways in which co-operative learning, whether formal or informal, in schools, universities, workplaces and communities can challenge inequalities and contribute to building co-operative authenticity, sustainability and resilience around the world.
The format of the conference will be varied including research presentations, panel sessions and interactive workshops.
The Co-operative Education Conference 2017 will be held in the Geoffrey Manton building, on the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) Manchester Campus, just off Oxford Road opposite Manchester Aquatics Centre.
