College history

Established in 1919 by the co-operative movement, the Co-operative College’s core aim was to extend the provision of education to co-operators. The values of the pioneers of co-operation were at the heart of all the College’s learning programmes, projects and resources.

In 2015, the College became a charity with the objective:

To promote the education of the public, in particular, but not exclusively by the provision and conduct of the College for the education of people in a manner consistent with the values and principles of the co-operative movement.
